Roland FP 90 PHA-50 Plastic + Wood Hybrid Keys
PHA-50, which is Roland’s best key action yet, is included in FP 90. The combination of plastic and wood makes FP 90 look more natural, and escapement feature integrated in PHA-50 will make players to feel action of actual piano because the wood parts will vibrate. It also feels natural when sliding keys.
*Escapement – the mechanism that allows the hammer to clear the string after striking, so that the string can vibrate (TheFreeDictionary).
Hammers of grand piano positioned horizontally therefore get affected by gravity directly, which enables faster key recovery. Hammers of upright piano are positioned vertically with springs (jack).
